CANDIDATE FOR THE BOARD
Commissioner Candidate: Adam Mucks
Question 1: Why would I like to be a Tainter Lake District Commissioner?
I am writing the Tainter Lake Rehabilitation District to express interest in running for the upcoming vacant commissioner’s position. As a lakefront property owner, I have a passion for spending time on the water. I believe investment into improving Tainter Lake is worth the time and effort and the community has an opportunity to benefit greatly. My wife and I are raising young children in our waterfront home and I believe lake quality improvement is essential for our children’s future enjoyment and health.
Question 2: What talents do I possess that would make me a good commissioner?
I believe I have a background that will make me a strong commissioner. I work as a Battalion Chief for the Menomonie Fire Department and possess a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management. I am familiar with the workings of government and budgeting. I see many similarities between processes related to municipal government and the Lake District. Over the past year I have regularly attended Lake District meetings and have a grasp on the Lake District’s current mission. I also serve as a member of the Aquatic Vegetation Removal subcommittee. I have dedicated an extensive amount of time to this subcommittee and the Lake district over the past several months.
Thank you for your consideration.
CANDIDATE FOR THE BOARD
Commissioner Candidate: Tim Maves
Question 1: Why would I like to be a Tainter Lake District Commissioner?
In 1949, my dad bought our cabin on lower Tainter, I have owned is since 2007. Tainter Lake has given me 68 years of enjoyment so now it’s time for me to give back to the lake whatever I can. I also feel the need for future generations, including my two grandsons, to be able to enjoy the same things I’ve enjoyed.
Funding
If elected, my main goal is to find as many different ways of finding projects as I can. Get ready because I will be asking for your help!
Question 2: What talents do I possess that would make me a good commissioner?
After spending a lifetime on the lake, I know and understand the different areas and challenges they present.
Growing up, both of my parents were involved in township and county government, so I understand how boards function and their responsibilities. My working career gave me many opportunities to listen to people’s needs and how they work together to come up with the best solutions.
I am looking forward to working with both the board and district members to help make Tainter Lake the best it can be.
