Tainter Lake District
PUBLIC HEARING: PROPOSED CHANGES TO SLOW NO-WAKE ORDINANCE BY THE TAINTER LAKE REHABILITATION DISTRICT
Date: Wednesday, December 3, 2025
Place: Tainter Town Hall

Time: 7:00 p.m.

Details:

The Tainter Lake Rehabilitation District (TLRD) is soliciting public input as we consider modifications to the control areas within our slow no-wake zone ordinance for Tainter Lake. These changes to the slow no-wake ordinance fit into the TLRD’s overall mission of improving the quality of Tainter Lake. At this hearing, we will share several potential expansions of the existing control zone areas covered by the existing ordinance (labeled “A’ , “B” , “C” , and “D” see map) and allow the public to weigh in on each potential control zone change. The TLRD already has budgeted for annual maintenance, installation, removal, and storage of the existing buoys, and purchase of replacement buoys. Most of the considered expansion areas would be covered by the existing budget. At this time, no changes are being considered for Control Zone #3 (Hay River).

A copy of the updated ordinance and budget impacts will be posted to the TLRD website at www.tainterlakedistrict.org for review prior to the meeting.

The TLRD Board of Commissioners and Boating & Safety Standing Committee will review public input during this meeting, with final recommendations to the TLRD Board of Commissioners during the January 15, 2026 monthly meeting at the Dunn County Government Center in Menomonie, WI at 5:00pm in Room 54.
